Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of healing that triggers your body and its innate ability to restore balance. It is an ancient Chinese practice of using very thin needles, activating “points” along meridians or pathways in the body. It is used to treat acute or chronic conditions such as pain, stress, and fertility. It is often used in combination with several other modalities such as: Cupping, Moxibustion, and Gua Sha.
Our experience is that acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine (TCM) promotes optimal health, boosts energy and restores harmony to those experiencing physical imbalances from the everyday rigors of modern life.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling, also known as Intramuscular Stimulation, is the direct needling of trigger points and muscles to combat myofascial dysfunction and muscular pain. Trigger points are sensitive areas of tight or knotted muscle fibers that can form after injuries or overuse. Dry Needling works to release areas of structural dysfunction by inducing your body’s natural healing responses, restoring motion, and breaking up fascial lesions. This service is perfect for those looking for deep & lasting musculoskeletal pain relief.
Dry Needling is best performed by a licensed Acupuncturist with specialized training in Dry Needling and trigger points. Licensed Acupuncturists train for least three years on needle insertions around the human body, including nerve and vascular anatomy. Depending on what an individual has going on, there are certain areas that can be dangerous if needled incorrectly. Unfortunately, no regulatory agency currently controls training, licensure, or supervision for Dry Needling, and as a result, there are weekend courses for certification available to sports injury therapists. We highly advise you to get any needle insertion services done by a licensed Acupuncturist or Medical practitioner.
Facial Acupuncture
Facial Acupuncture is a holistic, natural way of improving facial health and reducing the effects of aging that are most readily evident on the face.
This type of cosmetic acupuncture provides a safe, effective, natural and less expensive alternative to Botox treatments or cosmetic surgery. It’s a series of treatments and its results are subtle, gradual and cumulative. There are no rude surprises or long post treatment downtimes making it very desirable for those who wish for a more natural look than Botox or cosmetic surgery.
But there is more! Each facial treatment includes body acupuncture also. While face points encourage the flow of qi to the face, body points are chosen to balance the energy rushing to the face. These constitutional points not only support facial health but also promote internal well-being and can correct underlying issues during the course of the series. After completing the series one not only look naturally better on the outside but also feels healthier internally.
Esthetics
Esthetic services are designed to help patients appreciate their natural beauty through treatments designed to enhance skin health and appearance.
Light Therapy
Stimulate collagen and repair skin damage. Red light for aging, blue light for acne. Painless, no down time. Includes cleansing with mild exfoliation, and treatment serum. Book as a stand alone session or as an add on to another treatment.
Community Acupuncture
Community Acupuncture consists of shorter acupuncture treatments in a relaxing group setting on the 3rd floor in suite 313, versus our private rooms in suite 222. Patients are treated in comfortable reclining chairs using distal and frontal points. Some condition treatments (such as fertility support/IUI/IVF) cannot be done in community acupuncture setting due to the position of the treatment points.
Community acupuncture is a good way of trying acupuncture if you have never experienced it before, and is also great for mini treatments between private appointments. We provide this special service to our community as a way of reducing some of the cost barriers that may be associated with private treatments. Community pricing is set on a sliding scale and treatments last between 30-45 minutes and 1 hour for new patients to our clinic.
